What is SSC CHSL 2018

Staff Selection Commission every year organize SSC 10+2 exam for Posts of Lower Division Clerk & Data Entry Operator. From The year 2015, SSC has to include Posts for Postal/ Sorting Assistant under Combined Higher Secondary Level Exam-2018.
Candidates who have passed 10+2 are eligible to take part in this exam. As the name suggests SSC 10+2 exam, it is an exam for the difficulty level of class 12th. But in the recent time Competition gets tough as Lacs of candidates applies for this exam. Even candidates who have done graduation and post graduation also take part in this exam, this factor also increases the level of exam.

How to Prepare for SSC CHSL 2018

The exams are in two steps.
First Step is an All India Written Exam (Tier 1, Tier 2) & Second Step is Typing Test.
Candidates have to pass in each step to crack the SSC 10+2 exam.

SSC CHSL 2016 Tier-I Exam

Tier-I Exam is consists of 200 Marks & Total Time Duration for this exam is 75 Minutes.

1. There will be 25 Questions each from the topics (Total 100 Questions):-
(i) General Intelligence & Reasoning
(ii) English Language
(iii) Quantitative Aptitude
(iv) General Awareness.
Every Question is of 2 Marks.
2. Each part is of equal importance so candidates have to focus on each & every part of this exam.
3. It should be noted by candidates is that there is Negative Marking of 0.50 Marks in this Exam. So plan for the exam is according to the pattern & syllabus of SSC.
4. Please Note that There is NO Sectional Cut Off for CHSL 2018 Exam.

Candidates have to make Strategy Regarding Time Management according to their Strength. Attempt those section first which are well prepared. Marks for Tier 1 will be added to Final Merit so try to attempt more questions with good accuracy. One should follow the given Strategy for Tier 1 Exam.

1. Reasoning: 20 Minutes
2. English: 15 Minutes
3. General Awareness: 10 Minutes
4. Quantitative Aptitude: 30 Minutes

Candidates need to save time for English & GK, as many questions you attempt in Maths, that will be beneficial for you.
Accuracy & Speed will be the Key to Getting Good Marks in Tier 1 Exam as per New Exam Scheme.

1. General Intelligence
1. The section of General Intelligence will test the candidates conceptual and factual knowledge rather than practice and intellectual approach.
2. Candidates while preparing for General Intelligence and reasoning section should work on their conceptual base by practicing regularly through SSC CHSL sample papers.
3. Candidates should work on their mental alert status along with logical and reasoning skills which will one the most required traits to solve the General intelligence section of the exam.

2. Quantitative Aptitude
1. The questions in the Quantitative Aptitude section of the SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam will be designed to test the candidate’s knowledge on the use of numbers and numerical sense.
2. Candidates should practice questions from topics such as computation of whole numbers, decimals, fractions, relationship, between the numbers, percentage, ratio and proportion, square roots, average, interest, profit and loss, discounts, partnership, mixtures and allegation etc.
3. Candidates should revise all the basic mathematics formula to strengthen their quantitative aptitude section.

3. General Awareness
1. The section of General Awareness in the SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam is one of the most easiest sections where the candidates can secure maximum marks if they have regular and thorough practice.
2. As per the SSC CHSL preparation tips for General Awareness, candidates should stay updated with the recent events of national and international importance along with his/her surroundings.
3. Questions under this section will be designed to test the candidates about recent events around and its application to the society,

English Comprehension
Candidates in this section will be tested on their writing ability, understanding correct English and comprehension. Candidates should have good knowledge of English grammar rules and its correct usage. Knowledge of elimination technique will also be required.
